At Sangapa Tours and Travel, we are passionate about creating unforgettable travel experiences that bring you closer to nature, adventure, and relaxation. Watamu, a charming coastal village along Kenya’s coastline, is famous for its pristine white-sand beaches, turquoise waters, and relaxed atmosphere.
Watamu lies within the protected Watamu Marine National Park, a conservation area renowned for its rich marine biodiversity. The beach is located approximately 105 km north of Kenya’s oldest city, Mombasa, and about 15 km south of Malindi.
We specialize in tailor-made safaris, excursions, and travel solutions that showcase the very best of Kenya. Watamu’s crystal-clear waters make it an ideal destination for a wide range of marine activities, while the surrounding region is home to abundant wildlife and unique natural attractions.
The Watamu Marine National Park is an exceptional spot for snorkeling and scuba diving. Its coral reefs host over 600 species of colorful fish and a remarkable variety of coral formations, offering unforgettable underwater experiences.
Upon arrival at the SGR station or Moi International Airport in Mombasa, you will be met by our driver and transferred to your hotel in Watamu. The scenic drive from Mombasa to Watamu takes approximately 2.5 hours.
After check-in, you will have time to relax, unwind, or enjoy a refreshing swim, especially if arrival is after lunchtime. In the evening, enjoy dinner at the hotel, followed by a drink and a restful overnight stay.
After breakfast at your hotel, your Watamu exploration begins with a variety of exciting activities to choose from. Depending on your interests, you may enjoy snorkeling over vibrant coral reefs, kite surfing, scuba diving, dolphin watching, or a peaceful canoe ride through the mangrove forests during high tide.
You may also visit Sudi Island to meet the local community and enjoy a freshly prepared lunch featuring grilled fish or chicken for those who prefer non-seafood options.
For nature lovers, an optional excursion to Arabuko Sokoke Forest offers a chance to spot elephants and other wildlife. Alternatively, you can take a guided boardwalk walk at Mida Creek, home to more than 600 species of colorful birds.
Later in the day, visit the historic Gede Ruins, including the museum and butterfly house, all located within the same heritage site.
Lunch can be enjoyed at the famous Crab Shack in Dabaso, followed by a magical sunset dhow cruise at Mida Creek. You will then return to your hotel or lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
If your visit falls on a weekend, you may also experience the lively Saturday beach party at Paparemo.
On your final day, enjoy breakfast at the hotel before heading to the stunning white-sand beaches to capture your last memories of Watamu’s natural beauty.
You will then be transferred to the airport or SGR station for your onward journey, or return to Nairobi. Lunch can be arranged before departure if desired.
This marks the end of your relaxing 3-day Blue Safari holiday in Watamu.
